个人简介
My program of research spans three broad thematic areas: (a) ethics, learning, and technology, (b) participatory design and community-engaged research methodologies, and (c) historical and sociopolitical analyses of science and technology education across global contexts.
I have two active projects that reflect these themes. In my NSF CAREER project (Investigation of Learning Contexts Considering Ethical, Racial, and Disciplinary Identities of Students in Engineering and Computer Science), I investigate new ways to conceptualize and design technology learning for high school and undergraduate students. This work has seeded the TREE Lab, a research-design lab I co-direct with Computer Science and Engineering faculty member Dr. Sarah Van Wart, and the Young People’s Race Power and Technology Project (YPRPT), an initiative that brings together undergraduate students at Northwestern with local high school students along with activists, artists, and technology experts to investigate the impact of Artificial Intelligence and Big Data technologies on marginalized communities in the Chicago area.
