My research interests are broadly in systems and networking, and the systems that my group builds interface heavily with both the programming languages and machine learning domains. Most recently, my work has focused on improving large-scale, distributed applications (e.g., video systems, machine-learning training and inference platforms, mobile apps, edge data analytics) in terms of performance, debuggability, resource-efficiency, and/or affordability. My research has been recognized with a Sloan Research Fellowship, the SIGCOMM Rising Star Award, an NSF CAREER Award, Google and Facebook Faculty Research Awards, an ACM SoCC Best Paper Award, and an IRTF Applied Networking Research Prize.
