•Geometric-transformation-based metamorphic testing approaches are developed for ADAS simulation testing.•Real-life bugs and issues are revealed in the LKASs of three famous ADAS simulation platforms.•Metamorphic testing can enhance test standards and protocols, and alleviate the oracle problem in ADAS simulation testing.
