Coverage Probability Analysis in Multi-cell Multi-user System with Random Number of Users

Considering the system coverage performance of a multi-cell multi-user system, cellular network generally assumes a determined user number in each cell for analytical simplicity. Motivated by improving the above highly idealized assumption, this paper proposes a novel approach to analyze the system coverage performance, which supports random number of users per cell and allows randomly scattered users. By adopting the stochastic geometric theory of the Matern Cluster Process to model the random locations of users and base stations, we characterize the Laplace transform of the inter-cell and intra-cell interference. Furthermore, we derive the closed-form expression of coverage probability. Through simulation, we verify the satisfying accuracy of the proposed approach. In addition, we also explore the effects of densities of base stations and users on the coverage performance, respectively.
