Honorary Secretary's Message

All professions, particularly the health-care professions, are constantly self-evaluating in order to advance their specialties in a consistent and quantitative manner. The dental profession is dealing with numerous issues and questions; chief among these is the equity issue, as those who are poor, disabled, aged, and living in rural areas or urban population face difficulty in accessing oral health-care services. To some extent, the government plays an important role through various schemes. Nonetheless, the goal is to improve and increase the efficiency of the health-care system, which will ultimately benefit society as a whole. I urge all aspiring dentists to preserve the quality, broadness, and depth of dental science, as well as to broaden the scope to meet newer demands based on science, patient requirements, and periodic professional input. I also encourage instructors and students of all levels to participate in research activities. It is commonly understood that research is dependent on scientific and academic innovation. We strive to put evidence-based treatment and practice at the forefront of health delivery by posing fresh ideas and providing alternative approaches to medical and social challenges. My dear Members, “Keep your dreams alive. Understand to achieve anything requires faith and belief in yourself, vision, hard work, and determination. Do not work for recognition, but do work worthy of recognition.” Long live IAPHD.
