In a digital medium environment, a method implemented suitable for determining a shape of a folded object 108 based on a representation of the object in an unfolded state 106, the method comprising:  detecting, by at least one computing device, visual cues of a two-dimensional (2D) representation of an unfolded object, the visual cues indicating folds 112 for transforming the unfolded object into a folded object; determining, by the at least one computing device, a shape of the folded object based on the detected visual cues; and generating, by the at least one computing device, a three-dimensional (3D) representation of the folded object having the determined shape. A file may be generated which allows printing, cutting and folding of the unfolded object. A user may apply graphics (see Figure 4) to the 2D unfolded object and this may be shown on the 3D representation of the folded object. Instructions may be generating for folding the object. The medium may determine a number of possible shapes and select one based on the volume or open edges.
