He is interested in plant abiotic and biotic stress tolerance as well as grain quality and other agronomic traits.
Meixue's research aligns to the University's research theme of Environment, Resources and Sustainability. His research interests include: (1) development of barley germplasm with stress tolerance (waterlogging, salinity, drought and acid soils), (2) cereal quality improvement, (3) physiological mechanisms for waterlogging and salinity tolerance, and (4) identifying molecular markers associated with the resistance of various stresses and diseases in barley.
